The Color Purple Wiki, Frankenstein Essay and Independent Reading Characterization essay by Rachel Oatman

Rachel did a great job on her first book report wiki. I'm sure many other good ones will appear here on the blog when we turn them in on Friday!

Rachel puts a lot of effort into every line of her writing. She truly likes to write, and you can tell! Read her Frankenstein essay for a good example of how you will organize your writing on your Independent Reading Book Essay Test next week.

This is Rachel's latest essay. This is a book many of you may want to read. She wrote about Ransom my Heart by Meg Cabot. Jodi, Rachel and I had fun going down to Border's in Riverpark to pick this book out to read together. It is written by the author who made The Princess Diaries. Read Rachel's review.

Two Awsome Poems by Reno McClellan

WAR

blood i see
wet water like
it goes everywhere if you don't stop it

stop it nope
it is keep on coming out
pleazz stop

nope more of it is coming out
sorry
no stop the bleeding
too late
don't say that
it is too late
i feel dizzy
where am i
flashbacks of my life

when i was little or now
blood everywhere
old memories i see
blood everywhere

tell her i love her
no you are going to live

i see family going past me
blood on my arms
slowly i see people
time going past slowly
don't go
i..i....i

love her
_______________________________________________________________________________________

HARD

See people going past me
watching them with parents
It makes me think
will I ever see my parents back together

every day and night
seeing happy families
walking pass me
their happy seeing each other
hugging and kissing

Thinking seeing if they will

days, months, even years pass
I see parents all loving each other
it makes me think why?
why does it happen to me

Thinking seeing if they will

ring ring ring
I pick up
it's my mom
She wants to see me
she has a present

That makes me think
what is it
looking around for clothes

Thinking seeing if they will

going down where she lives
having a warm feeling in me
looking around in the world

seeing a house by itself
knowing that is her house, for now
she is walking out
I miss her a lot
she misses me too

Thinking seeing if they will

Thinking which guy she has now
Want to go home now
no way to get home

Thinking seeing if they will

Looking at the road, cars pass by
seeing parents together happy
Makes me sad looking at them

going inside where it is all smoke
I can't really see at all
sitting on the couch
being bored like always

Hear the door open
getting ready to see a guy that I don't know
wishing it was my dad
he starts to talk
wait, I know that voice

thinking seeing if they will

Hug. It feels warm

Chapter Three of Cheryl's "Among the Enemy"

Cheryl is on a roll and I know many of you are following her mystery.
Read Chapter Three here!
Way to go Cheryl! Keep it coming!

WOW!

Cloud
A cloud slowly rolls across the sky on the wind's mighty back
And forms into shapes and pictures fascinating to the mind's eye
By the imagination of a child
It floats freely in the air
And flies away just as quickly as it came, leaving behind a small puddle in the city below.

poem by Cody MacDougald

Dusk
After noon before night
it is time for dusk to rise
it covers the the forest ground like jam on toast
the time the moister rises from the ground and into the heavens
through peeks to peaks
by morning it is gone.

WOOOOOSH

Wind
Running through the trees
As though it's being chased
Running as though it has a chance
In the trees, getting caught
Then it disappears as if it were never there

by Sabrina Trimble

Rock on Jamin and Harley!

I am a guitar
fiery as hell
I shred
I scream
I can create
I can destroy
I am a guitar

By Jamin Baker

I am a string on the guitar.
chrome as a exhaust on a motorcycle.
I sweep.
I shred.
I can make beautiful sounds.
I can make the guitar the most valuable thing in your life.
I am a string on the guitar.

By Harley McGovran

May I present: the poet Lani Lee!

Quixotic
is a Purple Dragon
Flying around in your mind,
Living in everyones imagination,
Making you realize that the land of imagination can be better then reality.

I am a Equation
clear as a piece of glass
I confuse
I clarify
I can make your life easier
I can make your life harder
I am a Equation

Desire
is a slick fox,
slowly, slyly and cunningly moving toward the thing it wants most,
deep in the dark, gloomy forest,
driven by lust it will live alone among the forest floor
